Learn a New Skill

As part of the Government's plan for jobs, a number of programmes are available to learn a new skill. This includes:

  • Traineeships for 16 - 24-year-olds in England,

  • Apprenticeships for all 16+

  • level 2 and 3 qualifications.

Courses and training are available in industries with skill shortages.

Presently, adults aged 19 and over who do not have a level 3 qualifications can access Free level 3 qualifications for adults as part of the National Skills Fund. This will be extended in April to all adults in England earning below £18,525 per annum.

Also see a list of Skills Bootcamps available to adults 19 and above by Area and Industry, with many of the training available online. This will make it easily accessible to all across England. The Bootcamps cover the Construction Industry and IT including Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, Cyber Security, Software Development and a number of other key digital, data and cloud training courses.
