2020 was a year like no other. Amid the lows, there was also hope as people and communities came together in different ways to support one another.

Parenting was hard and keeping the family engaged was even harder. If you have more than one child in different years or schools, keeping up with home schooling, ideas, recommendations and information flow from the various sources as well as holding a job was a real juggling exercise. Dare I mention the weekly grocery shop? Those who shopped online prior to the pandemic got a rude awakening when they suddenly had to go to the supermarket when they least wanted to. Getting a delivery slot was impossible - more like a nightmare! At first it seemed like the world had stopped in its tracks, but did it really?

Whilst some activities fully stopped, for better or worse, people found new ways of doing things and we all had to adapt and change our ways in order to survive. Neighbours shopped for each other, shared delivery slots and the excess milk from the milkman as well as unwanted contents of their cupboards and pantries - but not the toilet rolls. Children shared books which got left in hallways and porches for 72 hours before been touched and everything on this planet went virtual and sometimes at an absolutely bargain price.

For the adults, top universities offered heavily discounted courses online whilst the younger ones were able to access top virtual summer camps / schools and virtual work experience. You just had to know where to look.

Whilst change comes easy for some, for many, change is daunting and many got left behind. For some, it was simply because they could not keep up with the pace of change, others struggled to stay on top of it all with so much information coming from different sources and when you really needed to access that information, it was simply lost in the piles of messages and pages we receive. This gave birth to the The Families Hub.

The idea was to hold a bank of useful information which is always available when you actually need it without going through pages of messages and comments.

The Families Hub aims to pull everyone along by arming families with key information that will enable them to make informed decisions and thrive in today’s world.

With this in mind, we hope you DISCOVER something new at The Families Hub, EXPLORE your discovery, SHARE with someone and hopefully inspire them to try something new.
